The British Millerain Fabric
British Millerain's new 18 OZ lick wax fabric has been tested and selected for its outstanding characteristics. It remains traditional in its fall, feel and waxed finish. Its 590 g/m2 weight and ultra-tight weave provide exceptional abrasion and tensile strength, making it the benchmark for authentic canvas for leather goods and luggage. Each fiber is woven with precision, and the weave gives our backpack a real personality. Dry wax, meticulously applied to the canvas, provides a non-greasy feel and protection against the elements and the vagaries of city life.
Founded in the UK in 1880, British Millerain is a renowned manufacturer of ultra-resistant, waterproof canvas. Its recognized expertise is used to outfit a wide range of sectors, from the armed forces to marine and coastal activities, as well as outdoor enthusiasts.
Focus on Materials: Vegetable Tanned Leather
In keeping with tradition, we selected full-grain vegetable-tanned saddle leather (3.4 mm thick) for the Woody bag because of its superior quality, patina, and durability. The pigmentation of the leather is done in the mass and the grain (top surface of the leather) is oiled to provide protection and a characteristic pull-up effect (double tone) that adds flavor and distinction to this material. A little anecdote that you'll discover in the video: the leather handles are sewn with a triple-drive machine, a know-how similar to bourrel making, and we go up to almost 7 mm thickness on these yokes that you'll touch every day. This vegetable tanned saddle leather is widely used in the saddle world for its water and tear resistance properties. For all of these reasons, this is the leather that bears the Woody signature.
