Bringing you the Meteore backpack from Bleu de Chauffe: an authentic, casual, yet hi-tech backpack, entirely made in France at our workshop.
The Meteore backpack is a surprising hybrid, an entirely new blend of tradition and technical elements. Tradition in the choice of materials, the very DNA of Bleu de Chauffe: leather, coated canvas, felt, and artisanal manufacturing. This bag’s technical details make it stand out from the crowd: a roll-top closure and elastic drawstring held in place with two leather strips– rather than the plastic components usually found on outdoor backpacks.
For the bag’s closure system, we worked with German company Fidlock, renowned for the inventiveness and quality of their outdoor equipment components. The Météore can be opened and closed in the blink of an eye with its magnetic V-Buckle, a high-quality stainless steel component. To try it is to love it! It also has a magnetic snap fastening for the elastic on the front, to keep your belongings in place whether in the town or out hiking.
The Météore is the epitome of outdoor chic from Bleu de Chauffe: a versatile model with a 20L capacity. It is made from lightweight, water-resistant waxed cotton canvas. The details are in vegetable-tanned leather. The ergonomic straps are felt-lined for greater comfort.
With a capacity of 20L, it has space for all your personal belongings. The inside zipped pocket is dated and signed by the artisan who made the bag. The Meteore bag is compatible with the Milan laptop sleeve thanks to the SNAP system.

OUR NEW WAXED CANVAS ‘LUGGAGE LIGHT’ RANGE: SUPER STRONG, WATERPROOF BAGS.
This year, we are adding to the Bleu de Chauffe collection with a range of lightweight coated canvas bags with designs that are as attractive and sturdy as they are lightweight and waterproof.
This new coated cotton canvas is made in Scotland by Halley Stevensons, specialists in waxed canvas since 1864. We have chosen their 10:10 Wax C4 waxed canvas for our ‘Luggage Light’ collection – four times better waterproofing than their standard canvas. This canvas is not coated with oil, which makes it slightly dry to the touch. This lightweight, supple, strong material has a slightly ‘crazed’ look – a fine web of cracks that make it particularly stunning.
