CANVAS BACKPACK

This year, we are adding to the Bleu de Chauffe collection with a range of lightweight coated canvas bags with designs that are as attractive and sturdy as they are lightweight and waterproof.

The 25L Woody backpack (size S) is a fresh take on traditional climbing bags. It can be carried as a classic backpack or as hand luggage thanks to its double handle. Made from coated cotton canvas, the Woody backpack is completely weather-resistant and will keep all your essentials safe. The flap is made from boiled wool.

The handles, straps, and details are in vegetable-tanned leather. The Woody has an outer zipped pocket to keep all your essentials close at hand, as well as 2 patch pockets on the front and back for magazines or notebooks. With its large capacity, the inner compartment has space for all your personal belongings plus a 15” laptop.

The inside zipped pocket is dated and signed by the artisan who created the bag.

This new coated cotton canvas is made in Scotland by Halley Stevensons, specialists in waxed canvas since 1864. We have chosen their 10:10 Wax C4 waxed canvas for our ‘Luggage Light’ collection – four times better waterproofing than their standard canvas. This canvas is not coated with oil, which makes it slightly dry to the touch. This lightweight, supple, strong material has a slightly ‘crazed’ look – a fine web of cracks that make it particularly stunning.

- Waxed cotton canvas, tweed, and vegetable tanned leather.
