THE ORIGINS OF THE BLEU DE CHAUFFE BAZAR TOTE-BAG
The Bazar bag is an essential that has crossed centuries, oceans, professions and environments. In the United States, the "bazar bag" is inseparable from the "American way of life". In France, "cabas" is a Provençal word meaning "corbeille de jonc" and comes from the Latin capax, "that which holds". Exactly: to contain, and to contain a lot, is exactly what we expect of it !
ITS REINVENTION BY BLEU DE CHAUFFE
For our daily life and that of our customers, we wanted a large bag that could be taken anywhere, that was super practical without forgetting to be chic thanks to its rigidity. So we created this tote bag, which is now a classic in our collection. And we're the first to rave about it, every day !
THE CHARACTER OF THE BAZAR TOTE
From the outside, this tote-bag looks like a real graphic painting, with the vintage print of our logo, which marks our location in Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, a charming village in Aveyron, at the foot of the Millau Viaduct.
What distinguishes it from an ordinary tote-bag is the reinforced canvas that holds it together, accentuated by the vegetable-tanned leather handles and contours. It "sits there" and stays there: from the outside, it's impossible to guess what "junk" might be inside its very generous compartment!
Inside, you can put your groceries, a picnic, your work files, a computer sleeve with the handy snap concept, the Corto, our XXL companion, or one of our wallets.
Ways to carry: Thanks to its handles and adjustable straps, it can be carried by hand or over the shoulder. Its two rings on either side can accommodate a removable leather shoulder strap or a colored strap to personalize your tote bag as you wish.
FOCUS ON MATERIAL: ULTRA-RESISTANT, WATERPROOF CANVAS
We offer the Bazar shopping bag in two canvas versions.
- Jeep canvas tote bags (550g/m2), coated with an anti-stain and waterproofing wax. Produced in France, initially for JB Willys Jeep collectors and restorers.
- 18OZ canvas tote bags (590g/m2) by British Millerain. This traditional cotton canvas is renowned the world over for its strength and waterproofing. A must-have!
