The Lazard Besace is in the purest workwear tradition, inspired by the old French postman's bags of the 20th century.
Adapted for everyday urban use, its silhouette remains timeless and proudly displays a unique workwear style. Carried like a postman's bag, it is carried from the back, as in the original, for better access to its contents and greater freedom of movement.
Particularly resistant, its handcrafted manufacture requires dexterity, precision and a know-how close to that of the saddler.
The Lazard All-Terrain Besace
Robust and practical, the Lazard messenger bag is characterized by functionality, clean lines and simplicity.
Its contents can be accessed quickly and easily thanks to a button on the collar under the roller buckle. Its webbing shoulder strap is comfortable and adjustable (from 45 to 65 cm), and the leather strap on the back allows a telescopic trolley pole to pass through.
The interior of the Lazard can be customized to suit your needs, and thanks to the SNAP system, you can add a multi-compartment pocket, tablet or computer protection (Misha 13).

In Aveyron, near Millau, a region renowned for its expertise in glove-making and tanning, our leather craftsmen make all our bags.
We don't use assembly lines. We carefully train each craftsman to master every step of the bag-making process, right up to the final signature.

Focus on Materials: Vegetable Tanned Leather
Originally, craft bags were made exclusively from vegetable tanned leather. It wasn't until the '60s and '70s that chrome-tanned leathers made their appearance. In keeping with tradition, we only use leathers tanned with natural substances such as mimosa, acacia, and chestnut (no materials harmful to humans or the environment) for the Lazard satchel bag. This ancient, artisanal process offers many advantages. Not only is it more resistant and waterproof, it also offers a naturally soft touch and an authentic appearance that improves with age. Over the years, your Lazard bag will develop a unique patina, a testament to its history and adventures.
To maintain your bag and prolong its beauty, nothing could be easier. Simply treat it with natural leather conditioner, applied evenly every 3 to 6 months, depending on use.
